Wine in the sunshine.

If you fancy getting to know a little more on the wine front, the hermitage has a wine shop on the nieuwe keizersgracht that has a wine tasting coming up on Sunday 28th may.

My way to describe the Netherlands

They don't care.

Now that sounds harsh but it's true of all kinds. The good kind: not caught up in fashion must haves, or what people are saying about you, to the bad: poor customer service.

As far as I can see, the locals go out and enjoy themselves in whatever way they please and even the police cannot dull their pleasure time. They have less shame than the western Europeans, with their openness to sex and the sex trade in shop windows in the red light district. They see no shame or any embarrassment about enjoying yourself.

Over all, they get on with life. They want to live their life and don't care how it affects you as that's your problem, no theirs. Which is a good way to live as they care little for what you think and just get on with their lives.

Customer service is brought in here as the lack of is seen throughout the country. It's not because your a foreigner or don't speak the local language, as some locals get the same treatment and just get on with it. Again. They don't care how they are treated in customer service (unless tragically) they just get on with life!
